IT'S ABOUT MORE THAN CRAFTING

In January 2022, the Nook was established in North Carolina after being relocated from California. (The Nook originated in MA, existed in NH, AK and CA.) Before relocating, I began praying for the group that would be formed. Through Facebook Cardmaking groups and the neighborhood, contacts were made and friendships were established and nurtured. As with the past group in CA (and even previously), a wonderful group of ladies began meeting regularly. My prayers were answered beyond my expectations.

The Nook is about much more than crafting. It is about fellowship, friendship, and is a place where women can feel safe, be encouraged in their journeys and invest in one another's lives. It has been encouraging to me that the ladies have made connections with each other outside of our regular meeting time on Thursdays. As we navigate life, it is wonderful to be able to encourage one another in life's challenges spiritually, emotionally, and physically while inspiring one another creatively.

This photo is from our Christmas Yankee Swap Luncheon (2022). Throughout the year we celebrate each lady as they have a birthday!

As in California, is has been good to connect with an area Assisted Living Facility where we go 4 times a year to craft with residents. The folks love to create Spring/Easter cards, Fall cards, Christmas cards and cards for birthdays and more.

As  the ladies in the Nook did in CA, the ladies of the NC Nook submitted cards to Kristina Werner's MAIL CALL.  - Note the cards at the link at 3:54.

The Nook has also been involved in some special projects. The youth at church created "exploding boxes" which were decorated for Firemen and Policemen. The contained notes from the youth, encouraging Scripture verses and candy and were delivered to them in person.

Finally, the Nook can reach folks near and far. There is a rack of cards created in the Nook in the church bookstore. 100% of the proceeds support Missions!

I have loved being able to share the Nook with others over the past 24 years. I am thankful for a supportive husband in my endeavors.
